LOS ANGELES, CA — The Los Angeles Zoo will once again be open for business starting August 26. The Xoo, which has been closed since March 13 due to the coronavirus pandemic, announced their plans to reopen at limited capacity.

Guests over 2 years old will be required to wear face coverings at all times inside the grounds. The zoo will also employ advanced, timed-entry reservations to monitor the amount of people on the property at one time.

Attractions such as in-person presentations, giraffe feedings, and similar exhibits that require close physical interaction will remain unavailable for the time being. Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the zoo, and markers will be posted to guide a new traffic flow and remind guests to social distance.

"The world has changed over the last several months and so has your Los Angeles Zoo," said Denise M. Verret, Zoo Director and CEO. "With enhanced protocols and procedures to ensure the health and safety of guests, staff, and animals. We are thrilled to be able to yet again provide our community with an outdoor, enriching experience that connects people with nature and the animals in our care."

The Zoo brings in nearly 1.8 million visitors per year, and is home to over 1,400 mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians. Guests can buy tickets and reserve an admission window starting at noon today.Excerpted from the web page: Los Angeles Zoo To Reopen On August 26 | North Hollywood, CA Patch.
