The cost of parking added to the cost of fuel makes driving your own car around way too extravagant. It could cut your travel expenses in half if not more.

  1. Cut Out Gym

Gym payments could prove exorbitant when trying to stay within a budget in L.A. Forget what you can’t afford—you can work out anywhere. With the lovely weather in Los Angeles, you can go for a run. You could even work out at home by doing crunches, cardio, HIIT and even lift filled gallon bottles for weights.

Do without non-essentials. There are many free activities to keep yourself occupied in L.A, outside your TV.

If you plan on studying in L.A, make sure to make use of the students’ facilities and discounts.

  1. Monitor Your Bills

While you can’t skimp on bills, you can be careful with your utilities to make sure your bills come at a minimum.

  1. Find Cheaper Areas

If you move further away from the beach, the rents do come down. Some neighborhoods that house comparatively cheaper accommodations are;

  • Fashion District
  • Lakeview Terrace
  • Panorama City
  • Norwalk
  • Carson
