It just occurred to me that we are very nearly at Wordle #600. The 600th Wordle will land in February. The 500th dropped on November 1st, 2022. Time really does fly when you’re solving puzzles. Or something.

In any case, here we are entering the final third of January, 2023. I have finally (mostly) beaten the awful cold that hampered me all month long, and have leaped back into my physical fitness regimen with gusto. I’m going all out, which is just what I do. I’ve also started a weight-loss challenge through OrangeTheory and I intend to actually make some real progress over the next eight weeks. It’s high-time I had a win, even if this one will take enormous self-discipline. I love food. I love cooking food. I love devouring as much of it as I can. But I want to lose at least 60 lbs and you have to work hard and make sacrifices to do that.

Wish me luck.

In the meantime, there’s always Wordle to distract me. Let’s do today’s!

How To Solve Today’s Wordle (spoilers)

The Hint: Netflix did this to carbon, but only for two seasons.

The Clue: This word begins with a vowel.

The Answer:

As you can see, I tied Wordle Bot today, though we took very different paths to victory. My first guess, Hades, popped into my head out of the blue. I suppose I was thinking about video games and that’s one I enjoy. It ended up being a great guess, leaving me with just 13 remaining solutions.

I though alien would be a fun Wordle and when the ‘A’ popped up green I thought for sure I’d gotten it right. Alas, such was not the case. Now I had to ponder for a spell, eventually coming up with two possible solutions: alley and alter. As is usually my tactic, I went with the word that had the most variety of letters. Alley had two L’s so I went with alter and emerged victorious!

I get zero points for tying Wordle Bot, but +1 for guessing in 3, so that’s a total of +1 today which I count as huzzah-worthy. So, yeah. HUZZAH!
